Aniseed oil (Pimpinella anisum oleum): Has a bronchio-spasmolytic and anti-tussive effect which eases spasms in the chest and when coughing. An effective expectorant, which means it thins mucous so it can be coughed up more easily, making it helpful for treating coughs and bronchial irritation. The anti-bacterial properties help to prevent and treat infection.

Grindelia (Grindelia robusta herba):   Helps to treat coughs, including whooping cough. It reduces excess mucous and catarrh in the upper respiratory tract, due to its expectorant action.

Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra radix):   Soothes irritated mucous membranes and has anti-inflammatory properties thus helps to manage respiratory problems, sore throats, asthma and chest infections.   Licorice also helps to loosen the mucous in airways which brings up phlegm.   It helps to relax bronchial spasms such as wheezing and shortness of breath, commonly experienced in asthma.

Marshmallow root (Althaea officinalis radix): The most important herb to relieve dry, unproductive coughs and bronchitis due to its inflammation and pain relieving properties.   It soothes and protects the mucous membrane tissue of the nose, throat and mouth.

Mullein (Verbascum densiflorum herba):   Relieves irritated mucous membranes in the throat by forming a protective layer.   Its anti-inflammatory properties provide relief on the voice box (larynx) and help to reduce fevers.   Mullein is especially beneficial for sufferers of nasal congestion (eg. catarrh) and irritating coughs and bronchitis.

Plantain (Plantago lanceolata herba):   Natures antibiotic, traditionally used to treat colds, coughs, fevers and sinusitis.   It helps to expel phlegm and soothe inflamed and painful mucous membranes in the nose, throat, bronchi, and lungs.   Plantain is particularly useful in treating wheezing and asthma.

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris herba cum flos): With essential oils to fight bacterial and viral infections, Thyme is classified as a natural antibiotic to help build immunity.   Effective at relieving wet and dry coughs, as well as asthma.   Its expectorant action helps clear the air passage of excess saliva and mucous, resulting in a productive cough.

 

Hypoallergenic. Also contains vegetable glycerin and ethanol.

Teens & Adults: Immediate Support Dose: 1 teaspoon (5ml), if required take every 30 minutes for up to 3 hours (do not exceed 7 doses per day).

 

Maintenance Dose: 1 teaspoon (5ml), 1-3 times per day
