BETADINE Antiseptic Ointment 65g

Betadine Antiseptic Ointment is used for common skin infections, and to prevent infection in minor burns, cuts and abrasions. It is a bactericidal, sporicidal and fungicidal antiseptic in an ointment base.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: povidone-iodine 10% w/v, equivalent to 1% w/v available iodine.

Directions

Cuts, wounds and abrasions: apply liberally to the injured area. Wipe away from the cut, and cover the surrounding area well.

Minor burns: cool immediately in cold water for 10 to 20 minutes. If the skin is red or blistered, cover with a non-stick sterile dressing and see a doctor.

Blisters: a broken blister is especially prone to infection, so treat it as an open wound.

Warnings

For external use only. Do not use if you are hypersensitive to iodine or povidone, or if the neck seal is broken. Do not apply heat before application. Do not use on large areas, deep or puncture wounds, or serious burns. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a thyroid condition.
