Betadine Sore Throat Gargle Concentrated is a medicated antiseptic gargle for sore throats. It is a concentrate and must be diluted before use, using the measure included in the pack.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: povidone-iodine 7.5% w/v, equivalent to 0.75% w/v available iodine. Contains 29% ethanol.

Directions

Dilute 1ml to 20ml with water using the measure provided, and gargle for 30 seconds. Spit the solution out afterwards. Do not swallow. Repeat every 3 to 4 hours if necessary.

Warnings

• Do not swallow the gargle or the diluted solution.
• If the sore throat does not respond within two days, or is accompanied by fever, headache, nausea or vomiting, seek medical attention.
• Do not use if you are known to be hypersensitive to iodine or povidone. If irritation, redness or swelling develops, stop treatment and consult a doctor.
• Avoid use if you have a thyroid condition, because of the risk of hyperthyroidism.
• Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
• Contains 29% ethanol.
