Ingredients
Each day tablet contains:
- Paracetamol 500 mg – eases headache and other aches and pains, and helps reduce fever
- Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg – helps relieve a blocked and runny nose
Each night tablet contains:
- Paracetamol 500 mg
- Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg
- Chlorpheniramine maleate 2 mg – a sedating antihistamine that eases a runny nose and watery eyes, and also aids rest
Directions
Adults and children 12 years and over: Day – 2 day tablets. Night – 2 night tablets as necessary. Take every 4–6 hours.
Maximum 6 day tablets and 2 night tablets in 24 hours.
Warnings
- Not for children under 12 years.
- Do not use if you have already taken paracetamol or an antihistamine.
- Do not use if the carton seal is broken or missing, or if the tablet foil is broken.
- Ask your doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, are taking antidepressants, are pregnant, or are taking any other cough and cold medicine.
- Phenylephrine may cause sleeplessness in some people.
- Night tablets only: may make you drowsy. If drowsy, do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol.
- Keep to the recommended dose. If an overdose is taken or suspected, ring the Poisons Information Centre (New Zealand 0800 764 766, Australia 13 11 26) or go to a hospital straight away even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed serious liver damage.
- Incorrect use may be harmful.
- Keep out of reach of children.
