Codral Night Cold & Flu is a night-time tablet for the temporary relief of cold and flu symptoms. It combines a pain reliever and fever reducer with a decongestant and a sedating antihistamine, so it eases the symptoms that keep you awake and allows rest.

Used for

Temporary relief of:

  • body aches and pains
  • blocked or runny noses
  • sneezing and watery eyes
  • sore throat

Ingredients

Each tablet contains:

  • Paracetamol 500 mg
  • Phenylephrine hydrochloride 5 mg
  • Chlorphenamine maleate 2 mg

Directions

Adults and children 12 years and over: 2 tablets every 4–6 hours at night-time as necessary. Maximum 8 tablets in 24 hours.

This medicine should not be taken for longer than a few days in adults, or 48 hours in children, except on medical advice.

Warnings

  • Incorrect use may be harmful.
  • Do not use for children under 12 years.
  • Do not use if you are hypersensitive to any of the ingredients.
  • Do not use if you have taken paracetamol.
  • Do not use if you have taken antihistamines.
  • Do not use if the blister foil is broken.
  • Ask your doctor before use if you have any medical condition, are taking any other medicines, or are a chronic alcohol abuser.
  • Ask your doctor before use if you have high blood pressure, heart problems, are taking antidepressants, or are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Phenylephrine may cause sleeplessness in some people.
  • Chlorphenamine may cause drowsiness. If drowsy, do not drive a vehicle or operate machinery. Avoid alcohol.
  • Discontinue use and see a doctor at the first sign of a skin reaction or any other sign of hypersensitivity.
  • If symptoms persist or worsen, or new symptoms appear, stop use and see your doctor.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children.
  • Keep to the recommended dose. If an overdose is taken or suspected, ring the Poisons Information Centre (New Zealand 0800 764 766) or go to a hospital straight away even if you feel well, because of the risk of delayed serious liver damage.
