Dimetapp 12 Hour Nasal Spray clears a blocked nose and keeps it clear for up to 12 hours. The active ingredient, oxymetazoline, is a decongestant applied directly to the nose, and the spray is non-drowsy. A 20 mL bottle giving about 200 sprays.

Ingredients

Active ingredient: Oxymetazoline hydrochloride 500 mcg/mL (0.05%).

Directions

Adults and children 6 years and over: 1–3 sprays into each nostril, every 10–12 hours. Maximum two times per day.

Use in children aged 6 to 11 years only on the advice of a doctor, pharmacist or nurse practitioner.

  1. Prime the metered pump before first use by depressing it a few times, so the dispenser is filled to the right level for correct pump action.
  2. With your head upright, insert the nozzle into the nostril.
  3. Completely depress the pump 1 to 3 times.
  4. Sniff deeply as you depress the pump.
  5. Repeat in the other nostril. Do not tilt your head backward while spraying.
  6. Wipe the tip clean after each use.

When to stop: After 3 days.

Warnings

  • Do not use in children under 6 years.
  • Do not use this product for more than 3 days.
  • If congestion persists, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
  • If you are not sure whether you should start using oxymetazoline, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
  • Use of this dispenser by more than one person may spread infection.
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose.
  • Store below 25 °C.
