ETHICS Ibuprofen Tablets 100

ETHICS Ibuprofen 200mg tablets are a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) used for the temporary relief of pain and inflammation, and to reduce fever. Ibuprofen works by reducing the production of prostaglandins, the substances the body releases in response to injury or illness that cause pain, swelling and fever. Pack of 100 tablets.

What it's used for

Temporary relief of pain and discomfort associated with headache and migraine, cold and flu symptoms, rheumatic and muscular pain, period pain, backache, dental pain and neuralgia. It also reduces fever.

How to take

Adults and children over 12 years: 1–2 tablets initially, then 1–2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours. Swallow whole with water, with or after food — taking ibuprofen on an empty stomach increases the chance of stomach upset.

Take the lowest dose that controls your symptoms, for the shortest time needed. Do not use for more than 3 days for fever, or more than 5 days for pain, without seeing your doctor. Incorrect use may be harmful.

Before you take it

Anti-inflammatories are not suitable for everyone. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before taking ibuprofen if you have or have had a stomach ulcer or stomach bleeding, asthma (ibuprofen can trigger wheezing in some people), kidney or heart problems, or high blood pressure. Do not use if you have stomach ulcers.

Not for children under 12 years unless your doctor or pharmacist advises it. Doses for children are calculated by body weight, not by tablet.

Check with your pharmacist if you take blood thinners, blood pressure medication, diuretics, lithium or methotrexate, as ibuprofen can interact with these.

Do not take alongside other anti-inflammatory medicines, including topical anti-inflammatory gels, unless advised by your doctor or pharmacist. Do not use during the last three months of pregnancy. Do not use if you have had an allergic reaction to aspirin or any other anti-inflammatory medicine.

Stop taking it and seek advice if you get stomach pain, indigestion that does not settle, or any black or bloodstained bowel motions.
