FESS Little Noses is a gentle saline solution for babies. It loosens and thins mucus to help clear a blocked nose so your baby can breathe more easily, and it moisturises dry nasal passages. It is non-medicated, so it can be used as often as needed from the day your baby is born.

Ingredients

Purified seawater, equivalent to sodium chloride 9 mg/mL.

Directions

The spray pump is designed to produce a soft spray suited to little noses.

  • Hold your baby upright and place the nozzle at the entrance of each nostril.
  • Depress the spray pump and apply 1 to 3 sprays per nostril.
  • Gently wipe the mucus away, or use a nasal aspirator to clear it.

Use before sleep and at least 15 minutes before a feed. Because it is non-medicated it can be used as often as necessary.

Nasal aspirator:

  • Hold the aspirator away from your baby’s nose and squeeze the air out of the bulb first.
  • Place the tip gently at the entrance of the nostril, pointing towards the back of the nose.
  • Hold the other nostril closed to create a vacuum.
  • Release your grip gradually so the suction draws the mucus into the bulb.
  • Squeeze the mucus onto a tissue, then repeat on the other side.
  • Wash the aspirator in warm soapy water, rinse and air dry after use.

The nasal aspirator is a rubber bulb syringe with a soft tip. It gently suctions the mucus loosened by the saline from your baby’s nose, doing the same job as blowing a nose, and avoids the harshness of tissues.
