Piksters Bamboo interdental brushes are size 6 (green) brushes for cleaning the spaces between teeth that a toothbrush cannot reach. Each pack holds 8 brushes with a biodegradable bamboo handle, and the same plastic-coated wire and bristle head used in the standard Piksters range. Size 6 suits wide gaps at the back teeth.

Piksters colour-codes every size: 000 navy, 00 pink, 0 grey, 1 purple, 2 white, 3 yellow, 4 red, 5 blue, 6 green and 7 black. The right brush enters the gap with light resistance and is never forced. Most mouths need two or three different sizes, since the gaps at the front are narrower than those at the back — your dentist or hygienist can tell you which. As a general rule the manufacturer suggests smaller sizes for the front teeth and larger sizes for the back.

Directions

• Insert the brush gently into the gap between two teeth. Do not force it — if it will not enter, step down a size.
• Move it in and out a few times, then move to the next gap.
• Rinse the brush after use and let it air dry.
• Replace the brush when the bristles splay or the wire bends.
• Use once a day, ideally before brushing so that toothpaste reaches the cleaned surfaces.

• Never force a brush into a gap. If it will not enter with light resistance, step down a size.
